durability of James Hardie siding products, it factory-finished in a rainbow of designer colors, with a mar-resistant surface
that resists peeling, chipping or cracking. The proprietary finishing process
bakes on color to ensure that it stays fast, with a 50-year transferable
limited product warranty, and a 15-year finish warranty.
The closely watched annual study evaluated construction costs
against home resale values and found the national average return on investment
for fiber-cement siding replacement to be 88.1 percent. This was the highest of
any remodeling project, including vinyl- siding replacement, and bathroom and
kitchen remodels, projects traditionally believed to be the best investments
